Noise in the street, no good internet connection, unexpected extra charge
Proximity to train station is excellent. Very helpful front counter staff, who speak a range of languages.
Bathroom doorway very low
Brilliant location, just round the corner from the station. Very friendly staff always available.
The internet was a bit dodgy, didn't work most of the time. There was a computer downstairs which guests had free access too though.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and very conveniently situated for access to the station and the city centre, with a cinema just around the corner. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was of a high standard, with boiled eggs, bread, marmalade/jam, cheese, cold meats, breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, tea/coffee/juice every morning. Internet access was available from a computer on the 2nd floor. The room I stayed in had a comfortable double bed with a TV, with an en suite bathroom with a good shower. I did not notice any noise/disturbance from the theatre during my stay, although this is mentioned as a possibility on the hotel website.
The room did get a little too hot at night, and this could not be remedied by opening the window because the window opened onto a small roofed yard, which was the same temperature as the room.
friendly, helpful staff, charming building, excellent breakfast, central location.
street noise - no fault of the hotel - was quite loud as the city was repairing tram tracks under our windows. an electric room fan would have allowed us to close the windows and still be comfortable in the excessive late June heat.
Reception staff was very friendly and attentive.
This is not a complaints but coffee at breakfast could be self-service. It was ready made in a big pot anyway. I didn't see the point of being served in a individual pot. It gets cold quickly.
Staff was very friendly and breakfast always nice. Very central and handy to get around the city. Regards Elisabeth Muller
I stayed at the hotel for eight nights. My room must have been the smallest in the whole hotel. I could hardly move. Very dark and not pleasant to spend time in, except for sleeping. I like to bring to your attention, that there might be bed bugs in that bed I slept (Room 419) My body is covered in nasty bites and very itchy. Unfortunately, the size and facilities of my room where disappointing.
Room was pleasing and clean, somewhat more spacious than other hotels in Switzerland. Liked old world charm of the furnishings, carpets and architecture. Good buffet breakfast included at restaurant next door. Has free internet access so you can check emails. You can leave your luggage in the foyer if early for check in or not leaving Bern for some time after checkout. Very convenient location
Somewhat noisy at night from party goers and tram track repairs, room on the corner and got noise from both sides. Best to purchase ear plugs, consequence of being in the city.
facility is older than throught and is not so valuable compare the price.
Location is very convenient (near the center/station). The staff is very kind.
Too noisy, air conditioning is missing. The rooms are small and the design is average. Internet connection is ok but not convenient (login and password blocked after 72h and must be entered each time). Rather expensive.
We were traveling by train so the proximity to the station was good. The room cost included breakfast.
We were traveling with our adult children. They were given a tiny room on the fifth floor for the same price as ours on the first floor but our double room was only marginally bigger. The advertised rooms on display outside the hotel were much larger. There was no air-conditioning and our room on the first floor was so small that we felt we needed a window open but the traffic and noise from nearby venues was very loud. The next night we asked for a fan. I did not feel that this hotel provided value for money, even considering Swiss hotels are expensive
It is noisy at night as people go to toliets /bathrooms.
It was very comfortable and coveniently situated.
Its in the middle of city centre.
Thought with this mony I'd get little bit better room.
The location is accessible.
Not sure if Wifi is available or not. The room is a bit smelly.
